A quarter of Britons view Christmas shopping as more stressful than rush hour traffic, filling in forms or flying* – and for parents with kids in tow it’s often far worse…
But, a South-East Adventure Centre has found a simple solution for parents – weekend adventure days to keep your children entertained while parents can get on with their Christmas shopping!
Stubbers Adventure Centre, based in Upminster, Essex, have devised ‘Christmas Shopping Activity Days’ to allow parents the freedom to shop and make other Christmas preparations in peace while their kids have fun with their friends and make new ones. And they are particular benefit to parents who don’t have any family or friends they can ask to help with childcare.
Ideally located, Stubbers Adventure Centre provides easy access to some of the most popular shopping centres in London and Essex such as Lakeside, Westfield and Bluewater.
Children from school years 2 to 11 will be able to participate in a range of activities such as 4 x 4 driving, indoor climbing, archery and Christmas arts & crafts. Drop off is from 8.30am, with pick up times between 3pm and 5pm.
Ben Woodcock, Director of Smash Camps at Stubbers Adventure Centre said: “This time of year is tough for everyone – parents need to get things done to prepare for the festive period but traipsing round the busy shops is the last thing children want to be doing and actually it can be very difficult to buy a surprise gift when the person it is intended for is with you”.
“That’s why we’ve devised our Christmas Shopping Activity Days; parents can drop the kids off with us and rest assured that while they’re battling the masses to get all the Christmas prep completed, their offspring will be enjoying themselves, whether they’ve chosen to decorate a gingerbread man or whizz around on a 4×4.”
Shopping activity days will run on December 3 and 4, December 10 and 11 and December 16 and 17. The cost is £34 and childcare vouchers are accepted. SMASH Camps is Ofsted registered.
